Plan Now. Build Later

By Kel Weinhold | July 7, 2022

Join Me for a New — and Free! — Five Day Workshop:  Blueprint Bootcamp

Working on an academic project can feel like being asked to build a three-story house without a blueprint.

How am I supposed to know what goes where and how it’s all supposed to get done?

What exactly is a foundation and how do you make sure you have one that will hold the whole thing up?

If you’re like me, you’re waaaaaay more comfortable picking out paint colors than building the walls to put them on. And why shouldn’t you be. It’s not like anyone ever shown you how to build something this big. And paint colors are fun! Pouring concrete…. less so.

Seriously though, if someone points at a bungalow and says, “That’s cute. Go ahead and build it!” you’re not going to be able to just do it.

But, that’s what we’re taught to do with large projects. “This is a book. Now you make one.”

Here’s the thing. Just like with a house, you can’t embark on a project without a clear understanding of foundations. You’ll spend as much time dismantling and rebuilding as creating original work. And trial and error is a brutal and time consuming teacher.

And the residual worry can be debilitating.

Is this foundation going to hold this thing up?

Translation: Will the core message of this book (or article) withstand scrutiny?

Now imagine the exact opposite: training in the right component parts, in the right order, with the right tools, and with support.

With that kind of guidance, not only can you put together a well-constructed project, you can do it with ease and confidence.

That’s what my new free workshop is all about.

(If you’re already convinced, jump to the bottom of this post and sign up!)

Ease comes from confidence and order. Order comes from a plan. In other words, what you need is a blueprint!

Value of a blueprint:

  • You’ll understand your project as connected rather than disparate parts.
  • You’ll be able to move from one section to the next, depending on available resources.
  • You’ll be able to quickly adapt when faced with changing information and complications.

In two weeks, starting Monday, December 26, 2022, I’m hosting a FREE, 5-day series, Blueprint Bootcamp.

Step by step, I walk you through how to create your project blueprint, lay the right foundation, with the right tools, to get it done.

If you’ve been struggling to make the transition from ideation to conceptualization (or perhaps just skipping it altogether) then Blueprint Bootcamp is the workshop for you.
