Let’s just admit that this moment is terrifying.

Universities are stumbling. Demands are increasing. Funding is evaporating. What looked like a life of steady employment and separation from the vagaries of capitalism has become just as crushing and insecure as the jobs most of us never considered.

So what to do? The first thing is to know that we have always told you the truth and we always will. The second is to know that just as the guidance we offer in the academic job market, our advice is the non-academic job market is based on lived experience. We have made the transition to a life outside academia and we know what works and what doesn’t. But mostly, we know you can, too.

CHANGE IS HARD; DON’T GO IT ALONE

We offer support for any academic considering leaving academia, at any level and any stage of that process. No matter where you are in your journey, from initial contemplation stage to actually applying and interviewing for non-academic jobs, there is a space for you to explore your options. We begin all one-on-one work with post-ac clients with a 30 minute consult. ($100)

In the 30 minutes, we will go over your responses to the questions you will receive with your booking (Designed to get at what is working and what is not working in your current situations.) We will determine what the best next steps are in terms of both pursuing your goals and working with The Professor is Out.

Once you are clear on the best next steps for you, we can take on everything from job document editing to regular coaching support and everything in between

Why Kel?

      The key to a good job application is to have stellar job document materials. Kel and Karen can help you create resumes, cover letters, and other application materials that will help you stand out and get interviews. We also provide document edits.
