The Professor Is In Peer-Editing Collective
This is a voluntary collectivity of TPII readers who have committed to sharing peer-editing assistance using the principles on the TPII blog. Payment of a nominal fee of $5.00 (which supports the Job Seeker Support Fund) gives you access to the list of available peer-editors, and a place where you can post your own requests for editing. Dr. Karen doesn’t do any of the editing for the Collective, but she casts her positive energies and good will upon its endeavors.
Membership fee: $5.00

Can we get a few more details on what is involved? Must we commit to reading a certain number of writing samples of others in exchange for our work to be read?
No, this is totally voluntary! It’s just a way for like-minded souls to find one another.
How large is the Peer-Editing Collective?
Right now there are nine people who have posted profiles, but at least 30 have actually joined–they just haven’t added their profiles to the doc yet.
Hey, I’ve added my profile and editing request. What else should I do?
Sorry. Don’t know why that name was there. It’s Kerry Bowers, not Rachel Medlock.
You can email any members directly who seem like they’d be good editing candidates, I guess.
I joined the peer-editing page, but can’t seem to figure out where to leave submissions, or how to access it now that I’ve left the page. Can I get some info. ?
Thanks

Prof I am in South Africa
I am currently on the job market not for adjunct or tenure-track positions, but for part-time lecturer positions, or academic advising positions, or positions in student affairs. I hold a Master of Arts in Archaeology & Medieval History. Some positions are seeking a resume, while others want a c.v. With my goals, is the peer editing service appropriate? I am extremely interested, since I am still looking for jobs in the higher education job market. However, I am unsure since I am not a Ph.D. OR an ABD OR even a current student of any kind! Any thoughts in the ‘yea’ or ‘nay’ category would be helpful.
I’m curious whether anyone has used this service and what the results were.
Hello, Is there someone working in this group actually? It sounds like a fantastic idea but I wonder how it has worked so far and how many members are there in the group? Thank you.
Hello,
if I understand well, we have to pay a 5$ fee every time we want to edit something? Or is it an annual fee? I am unsure about the process exactly, does this give access to some sort of forum or database?
Thanks!
Just the $5 to join (one time), but I’m happy to waive that now. I am actually not certain the peer editing page is still active.
Hi, I’m just wondering if this group is active? I’m happy to pay if it still is.
You know, I”ve been wondering that too! I think maybe not…
