Pre-Tenure Coaching Group

Join Dr. Karen Kelsky for her ongoing Q and A/Coaching Series for those on the tenure track!  A safe confidential space for candid, open Q&A on any anxiety, challenge, or decision related to your tenure track position. 100% confidential.

5 Live dates, along with a private, confidential dedicated group page for conversation, resources, and links.

ALL WILL BE RECORDED if you cannot make the live times.

Live Session 1: Aug 23, 3-4:30 EST (note the atypical time slot!)
Live Session 2: Sept 13, 6-7:30 EST
Live Session 3: Oct  18, 6-7:30 EST
Live Session 4:  TBA after Doodle Poll
Live Session 5: TBA after Doodle Poll

This ongoing program allows us to deepen the conversation, build on connections and adjust advice as your plans evolve over time (I’d love to have an advising group that continued on in perpetuity!)

Let me be the career mentor you might not have on your campus, OR your one-woman No Committee, keeping you from over-committing to projects harming your tenure case, OR your impartial sounding board for sketchy campus/department politics, OR your cheerleader for getting your work done and published, OR your skeptical interlocutor to help determine if it’s time to move on. [And these are not mutually exclusive!]

I will answer any and all questions about managing the stresses and opportunities of the tenure track period, including (but not limited to!)

*what to do in the first year

*managing department politics

*getting your writing done

*strategizing service demands

*understanding how tenure cases are run

*understanding the role of external reviewers

*recognizing unhealthy work environments and taking action

*learning to say no

*fostering a healthy work/life balance

*challenges for white women and BIPOC scholars

*deciding it’s time to leave

*and anything else you want to know

100% confidential space.

Summer showed me how group members can also help one other with mutual feedback, suggestions and resources as well!  Summer was amazing–let’s keep it going!

Spaces limited to 30.
