Introducing Our New Professor Is In Staff!

By Karen Kelsky | February 4, 2022

I am delighted to announce our four new staff members at The Professor Is In! Please join me in welcoming them!
Vadricka Etienne (she/her) [Interview Coaching] is an assistant professor of African American and Black Diaspora Studies at the University of Nevada, Reno. Her research examines how ethnicity structures the familial and romantic lives of second-generation Black immigrants. She completed her Ph.D. in Sociology at the CUNY Graduate Center in 2020. She enjoys spoiling her new plant, trying new recipes, and reading for fun.

Jasmine Mote (she/her) [Document Editing] is an Assistant Professor in Occupational Therapy and Psychology at Tufts University. She completed her PhD in clinical psychology at the University of California, Berkeley in 2017. The first PhD in her family, she is dedicated to helping others traditionally underrepresented in academia demystify its secret language and rules. Her love language is track changes.

Furaha Norton (She/her) [Document Editing] is Assistant Professor of English at the University of Cincinnati. She holds a PhD from Cornell University (2001) and has previously worked as a book editor at Oxford University Press (New York, trade division), Vintage/Anchor Books, and The New Press. She lives in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Faith Okpotor (she/her) [Interview Coaching] is an assistant professor of political science at Moravian University and a security fellow at the Truman National Security Project. She studies political violence and international security with a special emphasis on Africa. Her current research examines the dynamics of post-election violence in Africa and mitigation approaches. Her other research interests include US foreign policy, postcolonial IR theory, feminist IR theory and research methodology. Her research has been supported by the United States Institute of Peace, National Science Foundation, American Council of Learned Societies, and U.S. Department of Defense’s Minerva Research Initiative. She holds an MA and PhD in political science and international relations from the University of Delaware, an MS in journalism from Northwestern University, and a BA in microbiology and creative writing from Hampshire College. Dr. Okpotor teaches courses in international and comparative politics, and international security. In her spare time Faith enjoys, cooking, traveling, movies, and spending time outdoors and with her family.
